My Favorite Cleaning Products That Make Life Easier

These are my favorite cleaning products that I actually use in our home for everyday upkeep, spot cleaning, and the occasional deep clean.

Whenever I hop on Instagram, Iโ€™m constantly served reels featuring the latest cleaning product or gadget that promises to make my life easier and my home spotless. And every time, I canโ€™t help but wonder, “Do people really use all of this stuff? Or are we just being told to buy, buy, buy the next ‘must-have’ cleaning tool?”

How I'm organizing our new mudroom cabinets

Thatโ€™s not what this post is. This is a very honest look at the cleaning products I actually use in our home. These are the ones I reach for over and over again, and whether I truly think theyโ€™re worth the money. No massive product list, no pressure to own four different mops, just my real-life favorites and what theyโ€™re good for.

A quick note for context: we do have cleaners come every other week to handle the big stuff, like mopping floors and scrubbing bathrooms. I adore them. Everything in this post is what I use in between for everyday upkeep, spot cleaning, and the occasional deep clean when something really needs attention. These are the cleaning products that genuinely earn their place in our house.

My Favorite Cleaning Products I Actually Use

my favorite cleaning products that I use every day

These are the cleaning products that have actually earned a permanent spot in our home. Some are for quick, everyday upkeep; others are for spot cleaning or those deeper jobs that pop up from time to time. But every single one is something I use regularly and would buy again.

Please feel no hype and no pressure to overhaul your entire cleaning routine. These are just the tools and products that genuinely make cleaning easier in our own home.

Bissell Steam Shot

Using my steam cleaner to clean my oven

Iโ€™ll be honest, I was a little hesitant to buy the Bissell Steam Shot at first. Who really needs another cleaning gadget? But this is one of those products that surprised me, and itโ€™s easily the cleaning tool I reach for the most.

I use the Steam Shot anytime I want to deep clean hard surfaces or tackle grime that doesnโ€™t come off with a quick wipe. Iโ€™ve used it to deep clean our oven, clean the dishwasher, refresh baseboards and doors, and even clean windowsills, where dirt tends to build up. It comes with several different nozzles and attachments, which makes it easy to reach small crevices and detailed areas that are otherwise a pain to clean.

The best part is that it only uses water. The steam loosens dirt, grease, and buildup without the need for additional cleaning solutions, which makes it a great option if you want effective results without constantly buying new products.

One quick note I know people ask about – I did have an older model, years ago, that was recalled. This is the newer version, and the old model is no longer sold.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Great for deep cleaning hard surfaces
  • Helps reach tight spaces and crevices
  • Uses only water, no chemicals needed
  • One of my most-used cleaning tools

Active Mold Stain Remover

using mold gel remover to clean my washing machine

This is one of those cleaning products that feels almost too good to be true, but it genuinely works. Itโ€™s a gel you apply directly to mold stains, and somehow it lifts them away with very little effort on your part.

The first place I tried it was on the rubber gasket of our washing machine in the laundry room, where a stubborn mold stain had formed. I applied the gel, waited a few hours, and honestly thought, “Ehโ€ฆ I donโ€™t know if this is doing much.” I even shared that skepticism on Instagram. But so many people told me to let it sit overnight, so I gave it another shot. By the next morning, the stain was completely gone. The gel hardens as it sits, and when you wipe it away, the mold comes right with it.

Iโ€™ve since used it in our shower on caulk and grout, and it works just as well there. Itโ€™s especially helpful for bathroom surfaces where soap scum and hard water stains tend to build up and regular cleaning solutions donโ€™t quite cut it.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Effectively removes mold stains from caulk, grout, and washing machine gaskets
  • Works best when left on for several hours or overnight
  • Great for bathrooms and laundry rooms
  • Minimal effort with really impressive results

Bissell Little Green Machine

little green cleaning machine

This one feels very full-circle for me. Growing up, my mom had a Little Green machine that sheโ€™d pull out anytime our dog had an accident or made a mess, and I have such a clear memory of using it as a kid. Fast forward to now, and I have my own version, and it gets just as much use in our house.

I use the Little Green ProHeat for stains on upholstery, rugs, and carpets, especially the ones that happen in real life with our kids. Iโ€™ve used it on couches, chairs, and even outdoor furniture cushions and covers. One time, Rory colored her entire pink velvet chair with markers, and we cleaned it together using this machine. It took a little patience, but it worked, and the chair was completely saved.

I stick to the Bissell cleaning solution thatโ€™s designed to go with it and just follow the directions. For me, thatโ€™s been the best way to get consistent results without damaging fabrics. Itโ€™s one of those cleaning products that doesnโ€™t get used every day, but when you need it, nothing else really compares.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Great for upholstery, rugs, and carpet stains
  • Perfect for kid and pet messes
  • Portable and easy to pull out when needed
  • A lifesaver for furniture you actually want to keep

Stone & Quartz Countertop Cleaner and Protector

kitchen countertops getting cleaned with quartz cleaner

Finding a countertop cleaner that actually works without leaving streaks has always been a struggle for me. I tried a lot of different all-purpose cleaners over the years, and somehow they either left a greasy residue, visible marks, or just didnโ€™t clean as well as I wanted them to. I finally stumbled on this stone and quartz cleaner, and it immediately became my go-to.

I use this every day in our kitchen on our countertops, and it consistently gives the best results. It cleans really well without leaving any streaks behind, which is especially important on natural stone and quartz surfaces. It also smells amazing. The peppermint thyme scent is fresh without being overpowering, and it makes wiping down the counters feel like less of a chore.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Safe for natural stone and quartz
  • Leaves no streaks or residue
  • Perfect for everyday kitchen use
  • Smells fresh and clean

E-Cloth Window Cleaning Kit

I use an e-cloth to clean our living room mirror

I was extremely skeptical of these at first. A cleaning cloth that claims you donโ€™t need any glass cleaner sounded a little too good to be true, but this is one of those products that completely changed my mind once I actually tried it.

The E-Cloth window cleaning kit comes with two microfiber cloths. The first has a waffle texture that you slightly dampen to clean the glass. The second cloth is used to dry and polish. Somehow, without any spray bottles or cleaning solutions, it removes dirt, fingerprints, and streaks from windows and mirrors. No Windex, no paper towels, no extra steps.

I use these on windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces all over the house, and they consistently give me better results than traditional glass cleaner. Theyโ€™re also a more sustainable choice since youโ€™re not going through disposable paper towels or constantly replacing cleaning products. It feels a little magical every time I use them, and I still donโ€™t fully understand how they work, but Iโ€™m not questioning it.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Cleans glass and mirrors with just water
  • No need for glass cleaner or paper towels
  • Streak-free results every time
  • Reusable and more sustainable

Force Field Dry Cleaning Fluid

our living room complete with custom built-ins for storage

This is one of those products that quietly works in the background but completely earns its keep. Finn actually found this stain remover years ago, and itโ€™s been a staple for us ever since, especially because we have a white couch that has seen just about everything.

Iโ€™ve used this dry cleaning fluid on some pretty intimidating stains over the years, including blood, chocolate, and red wine, and somehow itโ€™s managed to get them all out. You only need a small amount. I apply it directly to the stain and gently rub, and little by little, the stain lifts. Itโ€™s not instant magic, but itโ€™s incredibly effective if youโ€™re patient. But warning, it does have a strong smell!

I love having this on hand because itโ€™s one of those cleaning products you donโ€™t think about until you really need it. When a stain happens on upholstery or furniture you care about, this is my best bet before panicking or calling in a professional.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Removes tough stains from upholstery and furniture
  • A little goes a long way
  • Works on stains you think are permanent
  • A great option to have on hand โ€œjust in caseโ€

Dyson V15 Detect Vacuum

Iโ€™ve owned a couple of Dysons over the years, and the one we have now is the Dyson V15 Detect. Itโ€™s hands down my favorite vacuum cleaner Iโ€™ve ever used, and itโ€™s the one I reach for almost every day.

The feature that really sets this one apart is the light on the cleaning head. You think your floors are cleanโ€ฆ until you turn this on. The illumination shows dust, crumbs, and debris youโ€™d never see otherwise, especially on hardwood floors. Sometimes Iโ€™ll even vacuum with the lights low just because itโ€™s so satisfying to actually see everything disappear.

Use a vacuum with a handheld brush attachment to clean your dirty fridge coils

I use this for quick, regular vacuuming throughout the house, and all of the attachments make it easy to clean different areas. The crevice tool is great for baseboards and tight spots, and overall, itโ€™s lightweight and easy to grab for everyday use.

Why itโ€™s worth it:

  • Powerful suction with HEPA-level filtration
  • Built-in light reveals hidden dust and debris
  • Lightweight and easy to use for everyday vacuuming
  • Multiple attachments for different surfaces and spaces

Final Thoughts

how to clean the inside and outside of your windows

At the end of the day, I donโ€™t think having more cleaning products automatically makes cleaning easier. Having the right ones does. Every product in this list has earned its place in our home because it actually gets used, not because it looks good in a cabinet or promises some miracle result.

my favorite cleaning products that I use every day

If youโ€™re feeling overwhelmed by all the โ€œmust-haveโ€ cleaning tools out there, my advice is to start small. Pick one or two products that solve a real problem for you, and build from there. Cleaning doesnโ€™t need to be all-or-nothing or perfectly done to make a difference.

If you have a cleaning product you swear by, Iโ€™d love to hear about it. Iโ€™m always curious whatโ€™s actually working in other real, lived-in homes.
